Bar Minimum to have Basic Human Rights

    The resentment and revenge from Israeli government and its military have been dragging people to discuss whether or not Israel has the right to defend itself. Questioning whether Israel has the allowance to go after Hamas or not is frequently being asked by medias. It is obvious for Israel to create the correlation between defend rights and maximizing their military power. It is like a button to give consent for them to wildly behave. The button which should not have been given to Israel in the first place. However, 'what should Israel do post the October 7, waiting and receiving what Hamas will do toward them?'. The answer is simple, end the occupation, apartheid system, and giving Palestinians their basic human rights in their own territories. Basic fundamental to understand the reason on decades of conflict between Palestine and Israel is democracy and self-determination.

     People in Palestine are already civilized way before the creation of the state of Israel. Those people in Palestine were living in harmony before Europeans decided to flee to their ‘Promised Land’. Presently, people would wonder why zero Jews living in Palestine if Palestinians are being respectful with other people’s belief. It is a blatant lie since Jews from Israel can build their settlement in West Bank as we have known. Meanwhile in Gaza, Jews are being evacuated because of several reasons. Israel did not want to see the contradiction within the state because they have identified themselves as a Jewish state, Jews will more likely to take the opportunity to go to state which has been provided with billions of money from foreign government which create sophisticated environment in its areas, no shortage whatsoever and more importantly, they did not get constant and intense bombing. Psychologically, Jews did not want to settle in Gaza or be a part of Palestinians because they are afraid people would blame them for everything Israel has been doing. Therefore, Israel is the main problem since they are representing their own people with bombing campaign which had made public opinions turned against them. Moreover, they made standard for Palestinians to live peacefully by creating false narrative. Regardless, Israel will use Palestinians’ self-determination as validation to erase their fundamental rights.

    Every layer of age of Palestinians is being blamed because of the October 7. Some people did not like others whom have been oppressed to retaliate and have their own self-determination. It is funny on how Israeli advocators said ‘Israel had been withdrawing their troops in 2005 to give Palestinians their own democracy, but unfortunately they chose Hamas in 2006’. They are putting responsibility of military group which has been selected 2 decades ago toward current civilians who have been transitioned to another generation. In 2005 Palestinians were not even got their necessary rights, they were still being monitored, water and foods were being controlled, they did not know if someday somebody else will be taking away their homes. Consequently, all of the sudden general folks including children, their rights are being taken away. However, if those people are being generalized for Hamas’s actions on October 7, Israelis have equivalent accountability of their own government system and its personnel. Those people who are advocating for Israel more than Israelis itself are not felt ashamed whatsoever even though their prime minister and defense minister have been enlist on arrest warrant by ICC.

    Of course, Benjamin Netanyahu was democratically elected till he reached his current position, but he also got voted for crime against humanity. The violation of somebody’s rights is being legitimately accused by majority member of United Nation. Obviously, it is essential to put label on everyone who is against Israel’s interests, however, difference countries across region are voting the opposite side of their goals because people in Palestine do not have one of the rights or opportunities to loudly say what they have been through on mainstream medias. Those countries who were voted in UN General Assembly are not standing side-by-side with Israel not because they are not allowing only Jew state to exist, rather it is since the only Jew state on earth has been behaving the opposite direction of humanity. This is when Israel hates democracy, when the table was turned against them. Speaking of democracy, Israel has some freedom issues within their state particularly for women.

   ‘It is sexist to not include women as combatants’, the statement put by Israeli advocators in order to oversimplify Palestinians in Gaza. If every single human-being in Gaza are being labelled as Hamas, Israel would suggest the entire world to give their consent to flattening Gaza. Nonetheless, how many we have been watched Palestinian women resisting with gun on field and fight against IDF soldiers, and how many did we see female IDF troops who are holding weapons and controlling the air space in Gaza. If we put both proportion in juxtaposition, female fighters in Israel is overlapping the number on Hamas’s side. Especially, Israel has been campaigning their female soldiers on platform such as TikTok. They are portraying those troops as if brave, courage, and independent women. Heroic characteristics are not corresponded with devastating other female rights regardless where the place they are living in, what ethnicity, belief. Furthermore, those female Israeli combatants will be weapons for Israel to gather public opinion when they were being killed or taken as captive. When they alive they are operating machines to obliterate other woman rights in Palestine and when they are death, they are being used to gain massive support for Israel’s military operation. If Israeli women has been engaged but she chose to continue in military because Israel currently is lacking troops, maybe the problem itself came from Israeli government and its domestic policies.

   The accountability from military actions should not have been used to harm civilians as well as their rights. Most importantly, children who have nothing to do with the October 7 whatsoever. Some people would suggest, those babies who were born in Gaza have to be eliminated because they are going to become Hamas or terrorist. The bar minimum to live as human-beings in Palestine is expensive. Moreover, with the weaponization and generalization for its citizens made the water even muddier. Start on, do not ever assume women are not part of Hamas because it is deemed as sexist, children will grow up to become member of Palestinian resistance, civilians are not civilized yet therefore they want to build another civilization. Furthermore, people are tagging exclusive price for Palestinians’ rights after October 7. Nevertheless, one of the things Israel could have done post the October 7 was accepting the reality. Reality which Israel has been suppressed the entire population in Gaza till the point where Hamas initiate to retaliate. Israel needs to acknowledge the existence regarding they are the one who has military assistance from powerful country and then use it against humanity. At the end of the day, we should not have been taxing somebody’s rights for living as human-beings by putting standard or exclusivity such as certain belief, ethnic, whether they are supporting other ideologies or not. Every life does matter.
