No uterus no opinion slogan has similar level with the popularity of my body my choice slogan. Despite implicitly said someone whom outside “women” category cannot challenge or have opinion nor criticism towards abortion advocacy, they were also limiting free speech right nor trying to dictate other people should or should not to do. Beside of that, both woman and man have the same responsibility to grooming the baby inside the womb if they had been willing to engage in heterosexual relationship. Furthermore, men have the right to standing up for male babies in order to cease those newborns got disremembered. Abortion was also not merely decreasing the female population but male as well. Men whom were standing up against any types of abortion are giving father figures for other men who were neglecting their bundle of joy’s. Many women were pondering abortion due to the father of their child were not prepared to put the obligation onto their shoulders. Men are not the only one who can take a part in abortion, but everyone in our society can engage with the discussion regardless of their background.
Society has a huge part for supporting people who is struggling economically, mentally, or the other non-capabilities circumstances. It is a job for society to start addressing the abortion issue and not normalizing it because someone may be trying to do something wrong to themselves as well as people around them. Especially, pregnant woman whom in vulnerable state and the idea for accessing abortion has been lingering around in her mind in order to get rid of the baby and the accountability whether in legally or illegally way. The neighbors can either give advices or connect to anyone that could probably lighten their burdens. Moreover, they can create the discussion in family way and make the area clear and relax in order to reconsidering whether or not the mother pursues to abort her baby. However, everybody should have their own opinion in order to addressing certain issues in current climate including people with different political belief or part of some community such as Feminist, BLM, LGBT+.
As far as I am concerned, trans-women have not the right to talking about abortion if the discussion is exclusive for women who have uterus. The correlation between LGBT+ person and simultaneously said no uterus no opinion could deemed as a transphobic individual since only biological women have the part to produce female hormone and the capability for giving birth. It is kind of hypocrite when men cannot allow to have their opinion but men in dresses can have it. We can look at the definition of woman in this current wave was unnecessarily changing over the time due to including or being inclusive for LGBT+ people whom identified as female; Thereby, they are still debating male and female are the part of social structure. Nonetheless, many people would argue that trans people in general are allies if and only they have been choosing in the side of “progression” and supporting the right of women bodily autonomy.
Therefore, it is inclusive for everyone to discussing the current issue such as abortion whether they have uterus or not. We are going to undervalue the free speech if we would not allow people with different political belief, religion, ethnicity, to share their own thought. In addition, gender should not be a barrier for silencing someone’s voices. They have the right for challenging the idea of abortion advocacy among young women in order to get where they were coming from and the whole core reason regarding abortion establishment.
