Abortion is going to be a difficult policy to be applied in every state because of several contradictions and problems. The major issue with the impose of banning abortion by conservative lawmaker is, they do not provide further or additional assistances for those folks who chose to give birth for their babies. Red state such as Oklahoma for instance, they are adopting full ban abortion without any exception like preserve the life or health of the pregnant person, limited set of medical emergencies, survivors of rape and incest, and whatnot according to Britannica. The problem is not only coming from the accessibility, but also post-birth. Based on Center Budget and Policy Priorities in 2023, Oklahoma is one the red states which has Temporary Assistance for Needy Families at the lowest bracket with merely offers 11-19% of poverty line (for family of three). Therefore, we can make a red line between the reason why people against abortion ban policy being implemented as well as cost of living nor lack of government benefits programs to raise a child. In addition, conservative state lawmakers are also the one who in favor of Donald Trump’s executive order to make cease government benefits.

Donald Trump's executive order to freeze Medicaid in order to address “fraud” and “abuse”, one of the popular government programs has been boiling people's blood especially for those who can barely afford basic necessities. Current administration is trying to strip benefits for American broadly including single parents. Those parents who depended on government’s aids and reliefs are going to live their life even more distressful financially and emotionally due to the desperation nor uncertainty for their child’s future. In simplification, some state legislatures want people to not do abortion and surviving the system with their own limited resources. It is quite astonishing to see some people out there are trying to stop government benefits because they are believed those single parents are merely people who do not want take the responsibility of pregnancy.

People or specifically on right are frequently arguing regarding those single parents are whether or not they need to face their own consequences for having unprotected sex. However, the core problems are more nuance than we thought since the number of single parents is consisted of many diverse backgrounds such as divorce because of abusive relationship or whatnot, death, socioeconomic status, or any other circumstances. Single parent are not monocausal circumstances and they should not have taken the idea of they are the burden for society. Conservatism is encouraging to increase birth rate yet does not want to assist their neighbor with different political belief. At the end, more people will not buy the idea of implementing full abortion ban because why do people even bother to raise a child if government only provide tiny amount of benefits for supporting parents and its child.
