The chant regarding From the River to the Sea has been famously and frequently used by people in solidarity movement for Palestinians. The meaning itself contained the main goal of the demonstration which is the freedom for Palestinians from the occupation because they have been suffering since the first establishment of Israel in 1948. In addition, From the River to the Sea is also meant to end the segregation whether in Gaza or West Bank. However, democracy in Palestine cannot be applied yet because the freedom of expression for Palestinian people has been stolen by Israeli government in order to prevent the independence nor liberation of Palestine. Furthermore, the apartheid state badge for Israel made it difficult to start acknowledge them as democracy country. It is quite ridiculous to heard a statement from someone who blatantly said Palestine cannot have their own state because the terms or the elements of statehood are not met. People would argue, maybe Palestinians can have their own state if Western and European countries are not devastated the requirements itself such as bombing the properties, almost flattening the entire land, destroying the fluctuation of Palestinians’ economic field, and creating uninhabitable places for they to live. Nevertheless, it is inevitable for Israel to be labelled as apartheid and anti-democracy state.
From the River to the Sea Palestine will be Free is meant to break the “democracy” from Israel and Western countries. Furthermore, the democracy Israel has been preached over decades is exclusive for certain race and religion. Palestine-Israel war is a battle between Ideology and ethnicity because Zionism as ideology is against Palestinians people who included broader beliefs such as Muslims, Christians, or even Arab Jews. However, Israel cannot state regarding the democracy they had since they are not recognized minorities. It is such a hypocrisy to call Israel a democratic state when they simultaneously abandoned other ethnicity such as Arabs. Nevertheless, From the River to the Sea has also been using from Israeli side as well.
It is an obvious move from American government to secure the shipping route in Red Sea by assaulting countries in Middle East such as Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, and others. Furthermore, American militaries have to control or in polite way, create “agreement” with Middle East Countries. If other states have the courage to against American interests or goals, West country will make some sort of terrorism propaganda in order to weakening those countries and left them vulnerable. As a result, Red Sea route can be used to whatever America wants. Nevertheless, America and Europe countries are assisting Israel in order to continue the extraction of natures in Middle East such as oil. One of the things which could attract American government is exposing and selling wildlife resources. Therefore, From the River to the Sea can describe American and Europe countries ambition in Middle East as well.
Small percentage of people would assume From the River to the Sea has implicitly meant to kill Jews in Israel in order to create only one state which is Palestine. Palestinians’ land which has been stolen by Israel should have given back and controlled under Palestinian authority because it is belong to them. Israel should have not had their independence state since the State of Palestine already existed and occupied by the real Semite folks. Israel cannot identify or deem as local civilians because the majority of Israelis are having dual passports individual who either came from Europe or West countries. More importantly, vast majority of Israelis do not have any bond or red tie to Holy Land even though they were claiming the land itself has been bought 3,000 years ago which does not make any comprehensive sense. Consequently, the Holy Land should be under Palestinian’s permission based on historic evidences and only one state can maintain nor preserve Holy Land which is Palestine. But in the reality, Israel violently declared their independency in 1948 in order to “taking back” their land by expelling and murdering indigenous people. Despite the misrepresentation From the River to the Sea, America and other Europe nations are supporting Israel due to gain more nature opportunities and control Red Sea.
As a result, many of the means nor intents could be found in From the River to the Sea chant but it is intentionally meant to end the occupation inside Palestine’s territory. Moreover, the slogan is also standing for the creation of the Greater Israel and describing American nor Europe countries interests in Middle East which is exploiting nature opportunities. Nonetheless, the pure purpose in Palestine rally is to uplifting the basic human-rights for Palestinians people to at least live peacefully without hearing any sounds of bombs in Gaza and West Bank. If some of the people in protest are lacking the knowledge to elaborate the meaning behind From the River to the Sea, they only want their government to stop the bombardment in Gaza because many of the videos have been spread regarding children got amputated without anesthesia on their screen. Solidarity movement for Palestinians is an action for the liberation of Palestine. Demonstrators do not want to see the drop tons of bombs From the River to the Sea.
The dream to obtain more land in Middle has been driven Israel to regional war with neighborhood countries in Middle East. From the River to the Sea on the side of Israel’s fence is creating the Greater of Israel. The Greater of Israel has been pursued by Israeli right-wing government in order to have full control nor authority with the lands in Middle East. Moreover, Benjamin Netanyahu has been taken steps to heritage his current ambition by bombing and threatening Syria, Lebanon, Yamen. In addition, Jordan firmly stated they will choose the declaration of war if Israel attempts to displace Palestinians from West Bank to Jordan. Israeli government genuinely understand Benjamin Netanyahu will no longer serve since the protests whether inside or outside Israel have been frequently occurred; Thereby, they were trying to push immediate actions such as raid and held military procedure called summer camp operation in West Bank which contained the demolish of roads to prevent Palestine’s medical providers to pick up patient from Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nublus.
